I’ve suffered from debilitating tinnitus myself for many years and I’ve worked with dozens of people suffering from tinnitus over the last two years. Telling people that there is no cure for tinnitus when it simply isn’t true is not fair. It’s true there isn’t a quick fix cure for tinnitus, no magic pill taken one day, tinnitus gone the next. The vast majority of long-term tinnitus sufferers walk away from a doctor’s office feeling stuck with this condition for the rest of their lives. However do not despair there are things, which you can do today that can get you on a path to a successful habituation. Through a unique, comprehensive system of complimentary therapies we learn to reduce the bodies overwhelming nervous response to the stimuli. The speed with which one habituates of course varies from individual to individual, but it’s safe to say that within a relatively short amount of time the tinnitus sufferer learns to what we call “Listen beyond tinnitus” So before telling people with tinnitus that they are essentially doomed to a life of insidious ringing, remind them that there are techniques, methods, and lifestyle modifications that can get them on a path to peace and quiet once more, and in a relatively short amount of time.
